B. Parents are expected to attend Parents Meetings and volunteer to help with special functions and fundraisers that benefit the association as a whole.
C. Any questions and/or problems will be directed to the team Vice President by the parent. If for some reason that cannot be done, those questions or concerns will be addressed by the President. If any of your concerns relate to game situations, please recognize that we employ the “24-hour rule“ by asking parents to consider their concerns for a period of one-day before contacting their team MANAGER.
D. Parents are expected and welcomed at all games. When attending games, they, and their guests, will act in a manner that demonstrates respect for all players, coaches, league officials, referees, and other parents. Abusive language and/or profanity will not be tolerated. USA Hockey has identified “the lack of respect” as one of its most important problems. As such, the PIHL and all on ice officials will be closely monitoring all clubs’ behavior and they will address such problems as appropriate including expulsion from the game or termination of play resulting in forfeiture for the offending team.
The Pine Richland Hockey Association expects its parents and fans to act as models and leaders, and stand for what is good about the sport of hockey. We should cheer for our team, win or lose, and accept defeat with class in a mature, adult manner. Good clean checks are a part of the game. Fighting and physical play intended to injure an opponent is not, and should not be encouraged or cheered. Injuries are taken seriously and should be viewed with concern. Parents are to keep in mind “it’s just for fun” and “it’s not if you win or lose, but what we have learned by playing the game”. Everyone is part of the team, and win or lose, everyone wins and loses together.
Any complaints concerning a game should be noted and brought to the attention of the team MANAGER. The team MANAGER can file a complaint with the proper authorities.
